Yengo National Park

Australia hotels

Yengo National Park is located 100km north of Sydney, and covers over 70 km from Wisemans Ferry to the Hunter Valley. This rugged and wild park forms part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage area. Mt Yengo is of cultural significance to local Aboriginal communities. There is a also a fine example of 19th century convict road-building in the historic Old Great North Road, which follows the park's south east border. It was originally built to provide a route from Sydney to the Hunter Valley. There are walking trails ranging from 10 minutes to 3 days and plenty of opportunities for both cycling and 4WD exploration.  There are picnic areas with barbecues and some excellent vantage points from which to enjoy spectacular views.

Groups of walkers can stay overnight at the Big Yengo Homestead or there are 3 camping grounds with basic facilities.

Yengo National Park is a popular day trip from Sydney. You can reach the park from Wisemans Ferry and St Albans, via the Putty Road or George Downes Drive.
