This nature reserve is found in the town of Wingham, located on the mid-northern New South Wales coast, on the banks of the Manning River. The reserve's rainforest was once sub-tropical floodplain rainforest which the local community has regenerated. It is home to a number of native species and is one of the state's most important breeding grounds for the endangered grey-headed flying fox.
The area is a haven for birdwatchers and there is a short circuit walk which is ideal for early morning spotting of rare species such as green catbirds and figbirds. This is a walk to suit all the family and it is wheelchair accessible. There are toilet and picnic facilities and a boat ramp at the neighbouring riverside reserve. There are cafes, pubs and accommodation options in Wingham town.
The nature reserve is accessed via Isabella and Farquhar Streets in Wingham.
