Wallaroo

Wallaroo is situated 154 km to the North West of Adelaide. Wallaroo is a key shipping port for Yorke. Wallaroo has safe beaches and is a popular fishing spot.

Attractions in town
Grave of Caroline Carleton is present on the Moonta Road at the cemetery who is the author of `Song of Australia`. National Trust Wallaroo is the Heritage and Nautical Museum and is present on the Jetty Road.  Some of the historic buildings present in the area are Old railway station present in Jetty road, Customs house which was built in the year 1865, and Hughes chimney stack which was built in the year 1865 are present on the Jetty Road. In the month of may Kernewek Lowender a Cornish festival is conducted in conjunction with Moonta and Kadina.

Attractions in the area
Several charming old Cornish-style cottages are present in the district. Bird Island is located 10 km to the south of Wallaroo and is noted for crabbing.
