Ulverstone

Ulverstone is a thriving port city of almost 10,000 people on the north coast of Tasmania at the mouth of the Leven River.  It is about halfway between the cities of Penguin and Devonport.  For visitors to the area, Ulverstone offers many attractions, including the state's largest rodeo, held in January each year.

Fairway Park and Ulverstone Waterslide
Located on Beach Road, the popular Ulverstone Waterslide complex also includes a bird sanctuary and a park.

Ulverstone History Museum
The Ulverstone History Museum features a replica model 1830's town.  It has shops and a schoolhouse among other things.  The original jailhouse is there, as well as the old railway station.  There is also a huge library of records available to access at the museum.

Ulverstone Dog Beach
Ulverstone has its share of lovely beaches, but tourists who travel with a dog will be glad to know that Ulverstone also has a beach where pets are welcome.
