Twelve Apostles Marine National Park

Australia hotels

Located only seven km of Port Campbell, the Twelve Apostles Marine National Park is located on the Great Ocean Road in the area known as the Shipwreck Coast.

Twelve Apostles covers 7,500 hectares and 17 km of the coastline.  Many facilities are available, and guided activities include bike touring, kayaking and canoeing, bus tours, coastal walking, diving, bushwalking, and snorkeling.

The renowned Twelve Apostles rock formations are the cornerstone of the park, but it extends out to some of Victoria’s most beautiful underwater scenery.  Rich intertidal communities, massive underwater arches, offshore reefs, and canyons can be seen.

Sculpted by the powerful Southern Ocean, the natural features are decorated with colorful seaweed, sponge gardens, and schools of dynamic reef fish. Seabirds feed, and breed on the rock stacks and islands in the park and the coastline nearby.  There are also regular sightings of fur seals and little penguins just after dark around the Twelve Apostles.
