Tenterfield in the New England region of New South Wales is famous Peter Allen’s song ‘Tenterfield Saddler’ and where Sir Henry Parkes delivered the Federation speech in 1889. Tenterfield also boasts the largest Cork tree, which was planted in 1861.

Bald Rock National Park
Located 35km North of Tenterfield, this granite natural masterpiece is the largest in Australia. The park is full of canyons and rock formations as well as great walks with stunning views.

Centenary Cottage
This folk museum is quirky and has a strange and interesting collection of furniture and artifacts. Logan Street, Tenterfield (02 6736 2844).

Tenterfield Saddler
The song Tenterfield Saddler, was a tribute from Peter Allen to his grandfather, George Woolnough, who worked in the local saddlery from 1908 to 1960. The saddle shop is open for viewing every day. 123 High Street, Tenterfield (02 6736 1478).
