Springbrook National Park

Australia hotels

Springbrook National Park is located on the Gold Coast hinterland, 78km south of Brisbane. Springbrook lies on the Scenic Rim, a mountain range which spreads across the border between New South Wales and Queensland. All four sections of the park (Springbrook Plateau, Natural Bridge, Numinbah and Mount Cougal) offer opportunities to enjoy a picnic, observe nature and take a wide range of walks. Walking tracks ranging from easy to challenging will take you to lookouts, ancient forests and waterfalls. This lush scenery is home to an array of wildlife. More than 100 bird species live in the park and reptile-lovers will enjoy spotting prehistoric-looking lace monitors, sleepy carpet pythons and land mullets.

How to access the park depends on which of the four sections you wish to visit. The most popular route is via the Nerang - Murwillumbah Road, which can be steep in places, so take care. Or to reach the Settlement camping ground on Springbrook Plateau, turn left off the Springbrook Road at the Public Hall into Carricks Road and follow the signs.
