Seal Bay Conservation Park is located on Kangaroo Island, just 45 minutes from the island's main town, Kingscote. It is a wide sandy beach which is home to a breeding colony of sea lions. They are rare and protected by law, and as such you can view the sea lions in their habitat by walking on the beach to within a few metres or by taking a stroll down the boardwalk. Beach tours also run regularly throughout the day. The visitor centre features interactive, educational displays and also has a shop, toilets and pay phones.
Bales beach is a stunning area of the park and has a picnic area with tables, barbecues and toilets. Nearby Little Sahara, 7km west of Seal Bay, is also worth a visit, with its incredible inland sand dunes.
Seal Bay is clearly signposted from Kingscote and all around Kangaroo Island. There are a range of accommodation options in Kingscote.
