Nimbin

Nimbin was the site of healing for the Bundjalung people. In 1973 the Aquaris Festival brought back the Rainbow Serpent spirit and made Nimbin very much an alternative culture area. Nimbin is 30km inland from Lismore. Nimbin is 30km north of Lismore and a hippie culture community and very vibrant and colourful. Cullen Street has brilliant murals and shop fronts offer funky interiors. The Nimbin rocks on the outskirts of Nimbin are estimated to be 20 million years old.
