Myall Lakes National Park

Australia hotels

Myall Lakes is one of the most popular National Parks in New South Wales. Located 188km northeast of Sydney, it boasts on the of the state's largest coastal lake systems and 40 kilometres of sweeping beaches and rolling sand dunes. There are many excellent spots for boating and several of the camping grounds are on the water's shore, with boat ramps. Conditions on the lakes are also perfect for kayaking. Visitors who don't have their own motor boats or kayaks can hire them locally. There are a number of excellent walks, ranging in length from 10 minutes to 11 days, taking visitors across rocky headlands, golden beaches and verdant rainforests.

There are many camping grounds scattered around Myall Lakes, some of which can only be reached by boat. It is also possible to hire cottages in the park.

There are various access points for the park, depending on which area you wish to visit. Most visitors arrive via Bulahdelah, 8km away. There is the option of public transport on the vehicle ferry at Bombah Point, which operates from 8am to 6pm every day of the year, and departs every 30 minutes.
