Murramarang National Park covers 12,000 hectares of coastal land between Kiola and Batemans Bay on the southern NSW coast, 206 km south west of Sydney. The park is a haven for naturalists, birdwatchers and geologists – not to mention being a photographer's dream. The coastline features a mix of sand and shingle beaches, rock formations and fossil-bearing rocks. Eastern grey kangaroos, swamp wallabies and a variety of birdlife, including honeyeaters and sea birds, inhabit the park. Popular activities for visitors include walking, cycling, boating, kayaking, swimming and fishing.
There are a number of caravan parks and camping grounds to choose from. There are also cabins for rent at Depot Beach and Pretty Beach.
From the Princes Highway, there are various entry points to the park. Bawly Point in the north and Merry Beach in the southern section are the main ones. Roads in the park are generally unsealed.
