Mirima National Park

Australia hotels

Mirima National Park is often called Hidden Valley, and is located just a five minute drive north of Kununurra, in the extreme north and eastern part of Western Australia, in the East Kimberly.

The park has limited facilities for visitors, but there are car parks, picnic areas, and bushwalking trails. No camping is allowed in the park, but there is ample lodging available in nearby Kununurra.

This area is often called a miniature version of the Bungle Bungle range, and gives visitors great views of the East Kimberly. It is also a place of significance for the Aboriginal Miriuwung people that have called this area home for thousands of years.   Hikes through the area will bring you to Aboriginal rock paintings, artifacts, and engravings.  There are rugged cliffs, ridges, and gullies which appear dark orange at dusk.  Wildlife includes a huge variety of birds, reptiles of all kinds, wallabies, dingoes, bats, and echidna.
