The villages of Laurieton, North Haven and Dunbogan surround an inlet at the mouth of the Camden Haven River located at 34 km to the south of Port Macquarie, which makes this place ideal for estuary farming.

An historical old museum is located in the old post office at Laurie Street.

Attractions in the Area
Oysters, Lobsters, bream, crabs and flat head are present in the local rivers and lakes. This place is also good for ocean fishing. Kattang Nature Reserve located 5 km to the east provides good coastal views and wildflowers.

Crowdy bay national park located 5 km to the south has prolific birdlife and magnificent ocean beach. There are viewing platforms on North Brother Mountain in Dooragan National park is located 6 km to the west of Laurieton. Big Fella Gum Tree is located 18 km to the South West of Laurieton. Craft Co-op in railway station and markets are present in Logans Crossing Road on 1st Sunday of each month.
