Lane Cove is a small National Park located within metropolitan Sydney, just ten kilometres north west of the city's Central Business District, making it a very popular day trip destination. The park consists of land near the banks of the Lane Cove River and most activity is centred on or around the river, mainly rowing boats and scenic walking trails. Animal lovers can also visit the Kukundi Wildlife Shelter. Swimming, however, is not recommended.
There are plenty of picnic spots and camping accommodation with powered and upowered sites and cabins at the neighbouring Lane Cove River Tourist Park.
The park is easy to access in any vehicle. From the centre of Sydney, take the Pacific Highway and follow the signs to Chatswood. At Chatswood shopping centre turn left down Fullers Road.
