Kwiambal National Park

Australia hotels

Kwiambal National Park is located north west of Ashford, covering around 2600 hectares. It boasts some spectacular waterfalls, steep valleys and River Red Gums. The park is home to numerous native animal species, including koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and platypus. Macintyre Falls and the Limestone Caves are particular scenic highlights and there are plenty of opportunities for walkers, swimmers and fishermen.

There is just one camping ground at Lemon Tree, which has wood barbecues, picnic tables, drinking water and non-flush toilets, and picnic areas at both the Falls and the Caves.

Kwiambal National Park is 90 kilometres north of Inverell. Go to Ashford village, then west on the sealed Wallangra Road, to turn off north for the last 19 kilometres of unsealed road. The last section may be difficult for cars in wet weather.
