Kununurra

Kununurra is located alongside Lake Kununurra on the Ord River. Adjacent to Kununurra there is a magnificient Mirima National Park. Near to Kununurra there is an major site for the Argyle Diamond Mine which is the largest producing diamond mine in the world.

Attractions in town
Sale`s of pink diamonds from the Argyle Diamond Mine. Diversion Gallery is located on the Fig Avenue is known for its Kimberley artworks. In the month of June one can view Dam to Dam Dinghy Race and in the month of July Mardi gras is held. Apex Barra Bash is held in the month of October.

Attractions in the Area
Kununurra is the starting point for tours and flights to colored and shaped Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park located to the south of Kununurra. Argyle Diamond mine is located to the south – west of Kununurra. Mirima National Park is located 2 km to the East of Kununurra (camping is not allowed). Warringarri has Aboriginal arts near the Kelly`s Knob Lookout which has views of surrounding irrigated land. Cruises are present on Lake Kununurra and have upstream tours into the Everglades and gorges for teeming Birdlife.
