Karijini is a National Park in the Hamersley Ranges in northwestern Australia; about two hours drive from the town of Newman. Four wheel drive tours are the easiest way to see the park. The park is 6274 km², and second largest in the national park system in Western Australia. Qantas also has daily scheduled flights to the park from the town of Parabardoo which is 100 km away.
Park facilities include barbecue grills, car parks, picnic areas and shelters, public toilets, and camping at basic campsites at Joffre Falls, Weano Gorge, and Dales Gorge. At Wittenoom, there is lodging as well, and you can also choose camping at the Savannah Camp Grounds or pick the safari tents at Karijini Eco Retreat adjacent.
With easy access to stunning lookouts, beautiful waterfalls, and bushwalking trails at every level, there is something to suit everyone here. The Circular Pool and other permanent water pools are always refreshing. The Interpretive Center can help with plans or answer questions about the park.
The park is most noted for its tunnels of marbled rock, crystal clear rock pools, massive gorges, and waterfalls. Wildlife here includes red kangaroos, wallabies, euros, geckos, echidnas, bats, legless lizards, goannas, and lots of bird and snake species, including pythons.
