Kalgoorlie

Experiences in Australia

Kalgoorlie sits on the richest square mile of gold mining soil in the world and is affectionately known as the Golden Mile. This gold rush boom town sits on the edge of the world's largest open cut gold mine and it still yields plenty, up to 850,000 ounces of gold annually. Because Kalgoorlie was built on gold the township is full of beautiful ornate architecture with wide spacious streets to stroll down. Kalgoorlie is 600km east of Perth.
