Gunnedah

Gunnedah present on the banks of the Namoi River is a rich Agricultural and pastoral land. It is the self appointed Koala capital of the world. It is one of the largest stock marketing centers in New South Wales.

Attractions in the town
There is a water tower museum towards the south east of Anzac park. Dorothea MacKellar who was an Australian poet and author of ‘My country’, his statue is located in Gunnedah Anzac Park. Memorial of Red Chief an Australian Aboriginal warrior of Gunn – e – dar group is located near the state office building on the Abott Street. Creative arts centre is located on the Chandos Street. National tomato competition is held in the month of March.

Attractions in the area
Porcupine lookout is present at approximately 3 km to the south east of Gunnedah. Lake Keepit Dam and State Recreational centre is present at 34 km to the North east for water sports, bush walking, and gliding, camping and picnicking.  Approximately 7 km to the west one can find Waterways Wildlife Park.
