Goongarrie National Park

Australia hotels

Goongarrie National Park is located in the western part of Australia, around 100 km north of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and covers around 60,000 hectares.

Facilities available in the park are picnic tables, rubbish bins, walking tracks, public toilets, and barbecue facilities. At the former Goongarrie pastoral station, there is also a Caravan Park, cottages, group camping, and other recently updated facilities for overnight visitors.

Goongarrie Park is a great place for bushwalking and bird watching.  Like most of the outback reserves of the Goldfields region, the park has golden plains, freshwater swamps, salt lakes, and eucalypt forests. There are an amazing variety of animals within the park, with tiny marsupials often found hiding in the brush and birds flitting through branches low to the ground, as well as water birds migrating miles away to waterways and wetlands.  Recent surveys have found the area contains 21 native mammals, as many as 95 bird species, and 58 types of amphibians and reptiles.
