Gloucester is in Western Australia, 281 km south of Perth and about 3km from Pemberton. Facilities include picnic tables, toilets, barbecues and lookouts. There are a great number of posted walks in the park, including a part of the 1000 km award-winning Bibbulmun Track that ranges from Perth Hills to Albany.
This park is home to Australia’s most famous karri tree: the Gloucester Tree. Karri trees are the third tallest species of trees in the world, and were often used for forest lookouts. This one had a cabin built in 1947 for just that purpose. Today, visitors can climb to the cabin using the climbing pegs inserted in the tree, and get a great view of the entire park. After you descend from your lofty perch 61 meters above ground, pick up a certificate from the Tourist Center to commemorate your accomplishment. Another area in the park not to miss is The Cascades, which is a tumbling cascade waterfall in Lefroy Brook. The spring wildflowers are spectacular at Gloucester.
