Gibraltar Range National Park

Australia hotels

Gibraltar Range National Park is located 79 km north-east of Glen Innes 493 km north of Sydney. Walking trails totalling over 100km offer scenic creeks and waterfalls, swamps, rainforest and granite boulders. The park is World Heritage listed as part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. It's a great place for hiking, cycling and swimming. The forests are home to some interesting wildlife, including koalas, spotted-tailed quolls (beautiful cat-like marsupials), small parma wallabies and long-nosed potoroos.

There are two well-sited campsites. Mulligans camping area is near a creek which is suitable for swimming; there are flushing toilets and an amenities block. Boundary Falls is located near to a spectacular waterfall. It has pit toilets and modern fire and cooking stands. Water is drinkable but only after being boiled or treated.

The park is located an hour from Glen Innes and 90 minutes from Grafton, via the Red Range Road.
