Forbes

Bush Ranger Ben Hall was shot by police in Forbes beside the Lachlan River in the year 1865. Today Forbes main industries include pet food manufacturing, export of Beef and Hay and an abattoir. In the month of March one can witness Ben Hall bike show and in the month of January Hang Gliding championships.

Attractions in the town
Historical buildings are located on the Camp and Lachlan Streets of Forbes. Bush Ranger Ben Hall of Fame is located in Albion hotel on the Lachlan Street. Historical Museum is located on the Cross Street which features relics associated with Colonial life and Ben Hall. Bogan Gate Road has graves of Ben Hall, Rebecca Shields (niece of Captain cook) and Kate Foster (Ned Kelly`s sister). Dowling Street Park has memorial marks of John Oxley who passed through the town of Forbes.
