Cleland Conservation Park

Australia hotels

Located just 20 minutes from Adelaide's city centre, Cleland Conservation Park conserves a vital area of bushland which encompasses the Cleland Wildlife Park, the viewing platform of Mt Lofty Summit and Waterfall Gully. The area is rich in history, with evidence of both Aboriginal occupation and European settlement.

Cleland Wildlife Park offers visitors an opportunity to walk through large enclosures and get close to various native species such as kangaroos, koalas and emus, and to view others including wombats, dingoes and various reptiles. The park is also home to some rare and endangered species such as the Yellow-footed Rock Wallaby and Bush Stone Curlew. Facilities include a souvenir shop, cafe and toilets. There is also a picnic area adjoining the wildlife park which has barbecues, toilets and picnic tables. The wildlife park's various walking trails are all wheelchair accessible.

Driving from Adelaide town centre, take Glen Osmond Road to the South Eastern Freeway. Exit at Crafers, turning left at the roundabout. Continue along Summit Road (signposted Mt Lofty Scenic Route) until you reach the Cleland turn-off.

Alternatively, it is possible to travel to the park by bus; check with Adelaide Metro for the most up to date information.
