Bournda National Park

Experiences in Australia

Bournda National Park comprises 2600 hectares of protected land, located 345km south west of Sydney, near Tathra.

Bournda National Park

It is a serene area of great natural beauty, and will particularly appeal to water-lovers, being home to saltwater and freshwater lakes, a lagoon, a creek and a number of pretty beaches. The lagoon is a popular spot for canoeing and swimming, as its waters are warm and perfectly calm. Boaters can launch their boats at the Wallagoot Lake Boat Club or Scott's Bay. Cyclists and walkers will find a number of interesting trails to choose from.

There is a well-serviced camping ground at Hobart Beach, with hot showers, flushing toilets and an amenities block. There are various picnic and barbecue spots around the park and electric and gas barbecues are available.

The park is located near to Merimbula (10 minutes drive) and Bega (15 minutes drive). Access is via the Sapphire Coast Drive. Some sections are unpaved but access is straightforward.
