Bellinger River National Park

Almost 600 kilometres north of Sydney and is where time has stood still. You can't drive through or even into the park but there are entry points for pedestrians at different places.

There are no walking tracks as such so it's best suited to experienced walkers who like to go exploring. There is a long Aboriginal history in this region and the forests are as there would have been thousands of years ago.

The number of birds is too long to list but includes lyrebirds, bowerbirds, bush turkeys, parrots and rosellas. There is an abundance of native animals amongst the old growth forests, the sub-tropical and the rainforests
