Bellingen is mid way between Sydney and Brisbane on the Pacific Highway. Bellingen has a laid back atmosphere and known to locals as 'Bello'. Bellingen has retained it's heritage charm and country town feel and easily seen on one of the horse drawn carriage tours. Explore the Never Never creek and the Bellinger river. Close by is the Dorrigo National Park accessible from Dorrigo town.

Bellingen Bat Island
Up to 40,000 flying foxes live on this 3 hectare Island. The nighttime display by the bats is quite spectacular, with September through to March being the best time to visit.

Dorrigo
Follow the waterfall way to Dorrigo a small community with craft shops, boutiques and cafes. The Dorrigo Steam Railway Museum has the largest collection of historic railway equipment in the southern hemisphere.

Dorrigo National Park
This World Heritage listed National Park has great walking tracks, lookouts, waterfalls and picnic areas. A highlight is the Skywalk this elevated walkway is situated high above the rainforest. The Rainforest Centre has picnic areas and a cafe (02 6657 2309).

Urunga
At the junction of the Kalang and Bellinger rivers is Uranga that means "long white sands" in the local Aboriginal language.
